How new cinema park will transform Saigon River landscape

A new cinema-themed park planned along the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City is set to become a major cultural and entertainment hub, enhancing the riverside Bach Dang Wharf Park and attracting visitors with film-inspired attractions.

Thu Duc Marine and Scene Plus companies have jointly proposed the development of the new riverside park.

The park will span five hectares along an 800-meter section of the Saigon River, from Thu Thiem Tunnel to the nearby overpass, with widths ranging from 75 to 100 meters inland.

The park will feature seven distinct zones, including an event area, a riverside cinema, a yacht pier, and spaces dedicated to film festivals and artistic performances.

According to the proposal, the park will be developed in three phases. In the first two to three years, infrastructure, the main film set, a film museum, and a yacht exhibition center will be completed. In the second phase, additional entertainment areas and expanded film-related events will be introduced. The third phase will see further development of integrated tourism and entertainment services.

The pier area will offer services including yacht exhibitions, floating restaurants, river cruises, and waterway transportation, further enhancing the appeal of the Saigon River.

Nguyen Tran Huu Thang, Chairman of the Waterway Tourism Association and CEO of Thu Duc Maritime JSC, emphasizes that the park’s strategic location at the gateway to central Ho Chi Minh City makes it easily accessible by both road and river transport.
